COUNTRY ARTIST, SONGWRITER, PRODUCER, COMEDIENNE

ABOUT ME

Stunning vocalist, poignant writer, and talented producer, North Carolina native Katelyn Clampett truly is the full package. Her dynamic range, genre-versatility, and prolific writing has taken her all over the world, performing with top artists in pop and country music, and garnering praise from the likes of Victoria Beckham, Vince Gill, and Kara Dioguardi.

When Katelyn was just two years old, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers heard her singing in a grocery store and approached her parents in awe. Singing perfect harmony as a toddler was not so normal. Her “not so normal” talent continued through high school, earning her a Songwriting and Vocal scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music. At Berklee she went on to win several songwriting contests, her songs were performed at the Boston Symphony, and the Songwriting Faculty nominated her to work with Paul Simon.

After graduating from Berklee, Katelyn went west, moving to Hollywood to compete on American Idol Season 9, where Kara Dioguardi called her "the full package," and Victoria Beckham gushed "I just love your style and everything about you." After competing on American Idol, she made it into the top 12 for a musical reality show on Bravo called Platinum Hit, hosted by Jewel and Kara Dioguardi, featuring 12 of the best singer/songwriters in the country. The day she decided to pull out of the show (for contractual reasons), she remembers walking out and having a cameraman stop her and say "That's too bad. You were my favorite."

Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Katelyn was asked to join Selena Gomez and The Scene as a background singer. She spent the next 2 years touring the world, making a name for herself as a vocalist and songwriter. When Selena was on a break from touring, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice sought Katelyn out to join her band as a background singer, keyboardist and acoustic guitarist.

Although her vocal talents are indisputable, she always remained true to her first love, songwriting. In between global tours, she would make trips to Nashville to write with and for other artists, not only as a songwriter but also a producer. Her music has been recorded by numerous artists and featured in television shows and corporate promotions (Dancing With The Stars, The Golf Channel, Budlight).

"It's funny. When I walk into a room, people expect me to be the stereotypical singer. They quickly find out that I'm a not-so-closeted nerd. I’ve been producing tracks since I was 16."

In 2013, Katelyn made the long drive from California to Nashville, TN, returning to her Southern roots to dive headfirst into her country career. She has spent the last few years writing for her debut record, as well as for other artists. She is excited to be releasing her debut single, “The Trouble with The Truth,” co-written with Barry Dean (Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes, Carrie Underwood), and co-produced with Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne).

On June 9, 2017 Katelyn released her long-anticipated debut single, “The Trouble with the Truth,” a brutally honest and vulnerable song that provided audiences with a perfect introduction to Katelyn as a performer, songwriter, and producer. The song found features on iTunes Hot Country and from publications such as Mega Country.

She has shared the stage with some of today’s top artists, performing with Ariana Grande and Vince Gill, and spending the past few years opening for country acts such as Dan + Shay, Love and Theft, Gloriana, and Kip Moore, among others.

She is currently a songwriter for artists in Christian, Country and Pop music, while releasing her own music and in development for her own television series.

She is represented by Creative Artists Agency in both Nashville and Los Angeles.
